An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen as a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. This is a permanent post offering a chance to lead and develop within a dynamic critical care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the ICU team, ensuring safe, individualised, and effective patient care. Manage the nursing skill mix and provide clinical leadership. Support staff development and maintain high standards under pressure. Demonstrate effective communication and calm decision-making in complex situations.
Essential Criteria:
Managerial experience in ITU. Proven leadership skills. Critical Care Qualification. NMC Registration.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the ICU team, ensuring safe, individualised, and effective patient care. Provide highly specialist advice and clinical leadership to support and develop the nursing team within the department and specialty. Work in conjunction with the Senior Nurse Manager to develop and review standards of direct nursing care, based on research evidence and audit outcomes. Ensure agreed standards of care are consistently delivered to patients. Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients. Offer specialist clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team and support services. Promote and maintain good working relationships across the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate knowledge of all relevant Health Board policies, procedures, and guidelines The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
