An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative and well-motivated Occupational Therapist to join the In patient team at St Austell Hospital
Under the umbrella of the South Restormel Rehab Therapy Team, we provide rehabilitation and discharge planning working closely with the full MDT
The post holder will treat patients with a complex, varied pathologies and presentations, including a wide variety of conditions e.g. neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, frailty and falls.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard occupational therapy service
To provide assessment and treatment/management of patients, some of whom may have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations, carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
Supervise and delegate to allied health professional support workers.
Working as part of the Mid Rehab Therapies Team, to ensure a high standard of intervention and effective and efficient service to patients
To practice as a lone worker under the supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist
You will be expected to provide supervision for support staff and participate in Student Education.
It will be an expectation of this post that if needed the person works flexibly across all areas of the South Restormel Therapy Team. Seven-day working could become an operational requirement of this post in the future. Currently the service is commissioned Mon - Fri excluding Bank Holidays.
Regular clinical supervision will be provided and continuing professional development encouraged. We would welcome informal visits to the team.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications Essential
HCPC registered Professional Qualifications taken in English Language or appropriate qualification from the International Language Testing System (IELTS) Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Experience Essential
Evidence of working in NHS setting Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
Skills and Aptitude Essential
Understanding of the roles of colleagues in health and social care Up to date clinical skills Understanding of conditions that can result in long term disability
