The Theatres Practice Education Team is looking for a motivated Operating Department Practitioner/Nurse to join our busy, friendly team in the role of Clinical Educator.
The support, learning, supervision and development of junior staff is an essential part of this role. You will also assist the Practice Education Team to deliver a range of training. This will include local inductions and orientation for new starters, apprentices, assistant practitioners, students and qualified practitioners.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills , and to develop your knowledge of service improvement whilst implementing safe, evidence-based care.
The opportunity to participate in recruitment events, open days and public engagement events forms part of this role.
The successful candidate will also be required to undertake regular clinical shifts to maintain a visible , credible presence in the perioperative environment.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery and coordination of training for students, apprentices and qualified practitioners across the department, as per directly delegated by Education Lead and Senior Educators.
To participate in recruitment, open days and public engagement events, in representation of the Theatres Practice Education Team and of the department.
To act as link member between the Theatres Practice Education Team and theatre staff of all roles, including (but not limited to) the organisation of education mornings.
To develop own skills and knowledge in the role of facilitating education initiatives and stewarding learners across all perioperative areas.

RGN/ODP - proven clinical experience at Band 5 in the peri operative environment (scrub, anaesthetic or recovery) Practice Assessor/Supervisor or SSSA equivalent qualification Evidence of continuing professional development
