Are you an experienced podiatrist with a passion for managing complex foot conditions and helping to prevent limb loss? We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled clinician to join our High Risk Foot Team as a Band 7 specialist Podiatrist.
In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing advanced assessment, triage, and treatment for patients with high-risk foot conditions, including complex ulceration and peripheral arterial disease. You will play a key role in preventing limb loss and improving patient outcomes across community and acute settings.
Main duties of the job
Daily triage of referrals based on urgency Advanced wound care & vascular assessment Management of complex foot conditions Facilitating urgent referrals for acute foot and lowerlimb problems Participation in MDT (consultants, nurses, GPs) Leadership within High Risk Foot Team and service developmentTraining Supervision, and education responsibilities Non-medical prescribing and X-ray referrals (where qualified)

Knowledge & Experience Essential
Current, evidence based wound care treatments, dressing products and equipment including TNP & Larvae therapy Management of patients diagnosed with peripheral arterial disease Current regional and national guidance that relates to general diabetes management and the high risk foot eg NICE, management of patients presenting with critical limb ischemia Evidence of working knowledge of the conditions that predispose to create the high risk foot Podiatry experience in a clinical setting Management of patients diagnosed with peripheral arterial disease
Desirable
Evidence of experience in the area of diabetes or peripheral arterial disease and high risk patient care.
Skills & Abilities Essential
Evidence of wound care / assessment skills including sharp debridement Manual dexterity and decision-making skills re handling sharp instruments in the treatment of patients with high risk feet

Evidence of advanced arterial assessment skills including use of Doppler & ABPI assessment Ability to produce off-loading devices including use of cast material Ability to apply advanced wound care treatments eg larvae and Topical Negative Pressure therapy

Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients and other members of the public. Demonstrates ability to communicate confidently and effectively within own team and across a wide range of disciplines and agencies Good time management skills and ability to manage own diary and workload.
