Job summary
We have an opportunity for experienced senior nurses to join our Adult Community Team, based out of Fair Havens hospice, located near beautiful Priory Park.
This service runs across 7 days, and there is a requirement for some bank holidays, evening, and weekend working.
At present, this role does not involve any night working, however, candidates should be aware that there may be a requirement for this at some time in the future.
Candidates would need to hold a UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle with valid business insurance.
The shift pattern for these roles is 3 x 12.5 shifts per week.
Main duties of the job
You will support and manage our community team members during a shift to enable patients care needs are met, being responsible for assessing the needs of patients, implementing and evaluating the care plans provided.

Job description Job responsibilities
To ensure complete security of drugs and administer them safely in accordance with regulations. At all times to act as the advocate for the patient. To provide support for families and other carers, prior to and following a death, involving other agencies or disciplines when appropriate. Participate in the education of other professional and non professional staff in conjunction with the education department. Be prepared to mentor students from educational establishments on clinical placements in conjunction with the education department. To assist the Fair Havens Community Team Manager in leading and developing the staff in the community team, encouraging effective communication, setting objectives and helping to foster a positive team spirit through regular team meetings. In the absence of the Fair Havens Community Team Manager to ensure that the caseload is adequately staffed at all times, including days off, and holidays in order to maintain levels of service and ensure cover for own holiday periods. In association with the Fair Havens Community Team Manager to manage services, recruit, train, support and coordinate the work of the staff in accordance with Havens Hospices policies and procedures Conduct appraisals, absence management, and performance reviews as and when required To be responsible for the day to day health & safety and welfare of staff, patients and families. To ensure that staff are adequately trained to enable them to fulfil their duties effectively
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
First level Degree or Diploma in Nursing Current and unrestricted practice registration with the NMC Post registration education and training up to Post Graduate Diploma level or equivalent Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance
Skills & Experience Essential
Demonstrable experience of managing a nursing shift and teams of staff Demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding Demonstrable palliative care experience Experience of managing employee relations, such as absence management, 121 supervisions, performance management, appraisals, and probation.
Job Related Skills Essential
Able to manipulate a range of clinical equipment to deliver patient care where there are narrow margins for error Ability to concentrate on clinical tasks, working methodically and paying attention to detail Demonstrates evidence-based practice and is willing to learn and develop new skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate sensitively and diplomatically with a wide range of people. Ability to use Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), databases, other relevant software and systems, and the internet to an intermediate level Ability to update and maintain records, databases, and other systems accurately and efficiently.
