About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant (Band 2) to join our team. You will support registered nurses in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of all patients at all times.

Main duties of the job

Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times Prepare and serve food and drinks, assisting patients with meals where required Support patients during care activities to promote independence wherever possible Assist in emergency situations, including resuscitation, following appropriate training Escort patients safely to other departments in line with Trust protocols Contribute to a safe, clean, and supportive care environment Deliver care that reflects equality, respect, and sensitivity to all individuals

Qualifications Essential

Key skills - literacy and numeric NVQ II in Direct Care

Physical Skills Essential

Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder e.g. manual handling of patients.

Aptitudes Essential

Positive and Enthusiastic attitude Ability to work as part of a multidisplinary team Commitment to personal development Active listening skills

Abilities Essential

Be willing to take part in training and development opportunities. Ability to adapt to change within working situation. Previous care experience desirable but not essential. Able to be flexible in relation to service demands.
