We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity within the Contracting Team of the Procurement Service. As part of the central Procurement Service and reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for the delivery of several procurement activities across Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management, the Trust and Northumbria Primary Care.
The successful applicant(s) will demonstrate an ability to draw on a strong set of procurement skills, commercial business acumen and specific experience in the delivery of procurement processes, developed over several years working in the public sector.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of our centralised Procurement Service, this role, will focus on the delivery of a wide portfolio of procurement requirements related to Estates and Facilities projects.
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate experience in undertaking public sector procurement and delivering successful contracts across a range of appropriate procurement processes, particularly within the category of Estates and Facilities related services. In addition, the ability to lead project specific engagement with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to manage individual workload and priorities.

The primary purpose of this role will be to work with our Estates and Facilities teams, providing specific procurement support and the delivery of quotation processes in line with the Standing Financial Instructions & policies, and to undertake procurement activity to deliver compliance and value for money to the Trust and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications Essential
The post holder must have knowledge acquired through either a degree or equivalent training and experience in procurement and/or contract management or equivalent

Evidence of recent continuing professional development

Significant experience in a specialist procurement position Demonstrated track record of successful delivery/contribution to a procurement and commercial work programmes for the purposes of delivering procurement compliance and value for money
