We are recruiting a Band 5 Medical Device Service Support Manager to provide essential leadership and operational oversight to our expanding Medical Equipment Library Service. This service currently supports three acute sites and associated community services, and will grow further to include Salford in 2026.

This is a pivotal role that ensures the safe, effective, and timely provision of medical devices to clinical teams--supporting patient flow, reducing delays, and maintaining compliance with CQC Regulations 12 & 15 and MHRA Managing Medical Devices guidance.

You will line-manage and support a band 4 and our team ofBand 3 Equipment Librarians, ensuring high standards of practice, robust quality checks, and efficient service delivery.

Main duties of the job

Providing day-to-day leadership and supervision to the Medical Equipment Library team Ensuring devices are appropriately checked, decontaminated, and issued safely Monitoring and improving KPIs, including operational capacity and device turnaround Supporting staff development, wellbeing, and succession planning Maintaining compliance with national standards and regulatory requirements Contributing to service expansion and continuous improvement initiatives Working closely with the NCA Medical Device Governance and Library Coordinator and wider Medical Device Service teams

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GCSE level Grade A-C English and math - or equivalent Level 2 qualification in health and social care or related field Level 3 Leadership Certificate (Diploma or equivalent) Qualification in a wide use of Microsoft applications - ECDL/CLAIT etc or equivalent experience

Skills Essential

Ability to think creatively and critically about workflows to assist leaner/smarter working. Ability to prepare and present information and data using Word, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to review work flow and make suggestions for change. Confident presenting/training to a medium sized number of people (up to about 10)

Knowledge and Experience Essential

Previous work experience in a leadership role Knowledge and understanding of budgeting and finance Previous experience of retrieving and analysing data from software applications
