About this role

Job summary

The Clinical Support Worker is an essential member of the multidisciplinary team on Ward 14b at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ward 14b is a busy elective orthopaedic surgical ward, providing pre-operative and post-operative care to patients undergoing planned orthopaedic procedures.

Working under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse, the post holder supports the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care. The role focuses on providing personalised care that promotes dignity, privacy and comfort, while supporting patients through their surgical journey and recovery. Clinical Support Workers assist with activities of daily living, undertake delegated clinical observations and tasks following appropriate training, and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised ward environment.

The ward follows enhanced recovery principles, supporting patients to mobilise early, regain independence and achieve timely discharge. The Clinical Support Worker plays a key role in encouraging rehabilitation, supporting patient wellbeing and ensuring a positive patient experience.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is compassionate, adaptable and committed to high standards of care, teamwork and continuous improvement within a supportive surgical ward setting.
