We're looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join the team at Framlingham Medical Practice.
You would be joining a supportive, experienced team that works well together and is committed to delivering excellent, consistent care to our patients. We place a strong emphasis on working collaboratively, supporting each other day to day, and maintaining a sensible, sustainable approach to workload.
Framlingham Medical Practice joined Suffolk Primary Care in April 2026. This provides access to a wider range of roles, shared expertise and organisational support, while allowing us to retain our identity as a local practice.
We are looking for up to full time (48 sessions per week), although there is flexibility for the right person.
We care for 9,500 patients across our main site in Framlingham, with a branch surgery at Earl Soham.
A stable clinical and administrative team, with a good mix of experience across GPs, nursing, dispensing and wider roles A strong team ethos, with people supporting each other day to day A training practice, supporting GP trainees and medical students from the University of Cambridge and University of East Anglia Use of SystmOne and Anima to support patient access and workflow Access to a broader multi-professional team through Suffolk Primary Care
Main duties of the job
The role includes a mix of routine and acute work, supported by established systems and a team-based approach to managing demand.
We aim to keep workloads manageable, with clear expectations and appropriate support in place. There is a shared understanding within the team of the need to work safely and sustainably.

Job Summary
As a Salaried GP at Framlingham, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad range of clinical presentations within a primary care setting.
You will manage your own caseload and work as part of a wider clinical team, contributing to the safe, effective and consistent delivery of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities
Working alongside colleagues, you will take part in the full range of duties expected of a GP. This includes:
Undertaking surgery consultations (face-to-face), telephone and online consultation Carrying out home visits where clinically appropriate Participating in the practice duty/on-call system Reviewing, managing and actioning clinical workflow, including pathology results, correspondence and prescriptions Managing a fair share of incoming workload, including documents, queries and administrative tasks
You will also:
Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions in relation to presenting problems Assess and manage patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions Identify risk factors and early signs of illness Develop and agree care plans with patients, in line with best practice and clinical guidance Provide appropriate health education and preventative care Admit, discharge and refer patients to other services as appropriate
Clinical Governance and Quality
You will be expected to:
Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records Prescribe safely and in line with local and national guidance Contribute to QOF, DES/LES and other contractual or locally commissioned requirements Support data collection, audit and quality improvement activity where appropriate
Duty GP Responsibilities
When undertaking the duty role, you will:
Provide clinical oversight of incoming demand Support the safe triage and allocation of workload, working with the wider team Respond to urgent patient requests and manage same-day clinical need Support colleagues with clinical queries where required Help ensure the smooth and safe running of the practice on the day
Working as part of the team
You will:
Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues Contribute to a team-based approach to managing workload and patient demand Support a working environment that is safe, respectful and focused on patient care As a training practice, there may also be opportunities to support GP trainees or other learners, depending on experience and interest.

As part of the role, you will:
Work in line with GMC standards and the responsibilities of a GP within NHS primary care Undertake the full range of duties associated with general practice Work in accordance with practice policies and procedures, including those relating to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and CQC requirements Maintain accurate, clear and up-to-date patient records, including appropriate coding of clinical information Use practice IT systems in line with agreed policies and standards Maintain a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including participation in audit and reflective practice Contribute to audit, quality improvement and the ongoing development of clinical standards within the practice Attend training, meetings and events as required Contribute positively to the wider team and to the ongoing development of the practiceConfidentiality and information governance

All such information must be treated as strictly confidential and handled in line with Suffolk Primary Care policies, data protection legislation (including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), and professional standards.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience in managing chronic disease and long-term conditions An understanding of primary prevention and screening Knowledge of clinical governance, audit and quality improvement Experience of working towards QOF and contractual requirements Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team The ability to reflect on practice and engage in continuous learning
Desirable
Experience of working in primary care Experience using SystmOne (or a similar clinical system) Experience of using online consultation platforms An interest in a particular clinical area and a willingness to develop this further
Qualifications Essential
Hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise Be included on the Medical Performers List Have completed GP training (CCT, CEGPR or equivalent) Hold MRCGP (or equivalent)
