Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding research midwifery team. Do you want to be part of one of the best and biggest research midwifery teams in the UK? Main duties of the job

To be responsible for maximising recruitment into research studies within the Trust. This will include developing recruitment strategies, monitoring rates of recruitment, performance studies within the Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital. The post holder will ensure that any research undertaken safeguards the well being of research participants and is conducted to Good Clinical Practice and in compliance to the respective research protocol and UK/EU law.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Registered Midwife NMC registered Minimum 2 Year post registration experience and completed preceptorship

Desirable

Experience of Clinical Trials co-ordination, Midwifery research

Knowledge & Nature of Experience Essential

Able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of midwifery practice Cannulation Phlebotomy Administrating medication

Desirable

Awareness of research process

Analytical and Judgement Skills Essential

Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication Self-starter and able to motivate others Team player Demonstrate ability to use own initiative and the ability to work well under pressure

Desirable

Be able to work shifts including weekends and nights Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve within the scope of research

Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge Essential

Assertive and strong patient advocate Maintaining study stock, resources and equipment Computer Literacy and knowledgeable of current patient data systems Demonstrate how you can be a research advocate

Personal Skills/Abilities and Attributes Essential

To have excellent time Management Well organised with the ability to prioritise their workload. Experience in the setting up and delivery of clinical trials.
