Key Responsibilities

As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will:

Work autonomously as an active member of the multidisciplinary team, undertaking specialist assessments in collaboration with service users and their families/carers. Develop, implement, and review person-centred treatment plans that promote safety, recovery, independence, and community inclusion. Deliver evidence-based interventions in line with NICE guidelines to support recovery and relapse prevention. Build effective therapeutic relationships with service users, carers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated care delivery. Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, adapting interventions and care plans as appropriate to meet changing needs. Support service users in completing clinical outcome measures and contribute to ongoing risk assessment and management. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate:

Current HCPC registration. A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy. Previous experience working within mental health services or community-based settings. Sound knowledge of evidence-based mental health interventions and recovery-focused practice. Strong understanding of medications, including administration, side effects, and ongoing management. Excellent communication, assessment, and clinical reasoning skills. All applicants for qualified roles will also be required to provide evidence of:

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Current HCPC registration. A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.

Experience Essential

Previous experience working within mental health services or community-based settings.

Knowledge and Skills Essential
