We are seeking an exceptional and motivated senior nurse to join our Health Protection Operational Service at a pivotal moment of innovation and development. You will play a central role in strengthening pathways, enhancing quality, and fostering effective partnerships across disciplines and sectors including Public Health Wales.

Main duties of the job
oBe responsible for the professional leadership, direction, management and governance of the Health Protection Operational Clinical Team including the specialist immunisation team within Cwm Taf Morgannwg.oSupport the Senior Management Team to ensure the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored, and evaluated within the areas of Health Protection and Vaccination.oWork Collaboratively with the clinical leads, specialist immunisation team, Public Health Wales, Service Manager, and administrative team in the planning, co-ordination and delivery of vaccine and testing programmes.oBe required to interpret national and health board policies and procedures and advice on the implementation of these for the Health Protection Operational Team.oBe guided by professional, organisational policies and codes of conduct and is responsible for their implementation in the service.oSupport processes and audits to monitor the quality of care, clinical practices, incidents/claims, and professional registration.oBe responsible for undertaking investigations of clinical incidents, complaints and professional issues following University Health Board Policy and acting upon findings/recommendations.
oWork in a highly flexible way in order to respond to changing clinical priorities. There may also be a requirement to work weekends and Bank Holidays in order to deliver a 7 day service when needed.

Qualifications Essential
UK NMC Registration Degree or equivalent skills, knowledge and/or training and experience plus Master's Level or possess skills, knowledge and/or training and experience to its equivalency. Management qualification / Teaching/Assessing Module. Knowledge and understanding of: oClinical Audit. oNICE Guidelines. oEffective research processes and applications. oNational Service Frameworks and appreciation of national policies and standards. oInfection, Prevention and Control procedures.
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Significant relevant clinical experience at Band 7 or equivalent or above. Demonstrate experience in effective resource management skills. Working in a wide range of clinical areas, clinically creditable with a background in multi-disciplinary working. Substantial post-registration experience including clinical leadership, and team management and have a reputation for professional innovation and excellence. Experience in leading teams and managing resources. Experience in implementing innovation and change in clinical practice. Experience in understanding clinical audit and/or research in clinical practice. Experience in facilitation, teaching and educating others. Experience in supervising staff. Experience in establishing, developing and managing clinical services.
Desirable
Research Module Experience working within health and social service systems, both at local and strategic levels. Developing business cases. Project management skills /Evidence of quality improvement skills. Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
