Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly, community-focused practice. The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, including routine consultations, management of acute and chronic conditions, and preventative healthcare.

You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and contribute to the continued development of practice services. Opportunities to develop clinical interests, participate in teaching, and engage in quality improvement are encouraged.

Main duties of the job

Provide General Medical Services in accordance with the GMS contract Undertake surgery consultations, telephone and online consultations Diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with practice and national guidelines Process and action laboratory results, clinical correspondence, and referrals Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records Participate in practice meetings, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activities Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team Contribute to the training and supervision of medical and allied health professionals where appropriate

Borth Surgery is a purpose-built Health Centre, established in 1995, located on the main street of Bortha charming coastal village nestled in the heart of Cardigan Bay. We are a highly community-focused practice, committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care while fostering strong relationships with our local population.

Our modern premises offer excellent facilities, including two large rear car parks with designated disabled spaces, ensuring easy access for patients and staff. The practice serves a wide and diverse area, from Penparcau in the south to Furnace in the north, and across to Ponterwyd in the east.

We have a friendly and experienced multidisciplinary team comprising a GP Partner, a Salaried GP, two Practice Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, and a District Nursing team, supported by a proactive Practice Manager and skilled administrative staff. We pride ourselves on a supportive and collaborative working environment.

In addition to providing a full range of general practice services, we run specialist clinics in Respiratory Care, Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Disease. We are also an established training practice, supporting a range of learners, and host a Coding Hub delivering services to practices across Wales.

Job SummaryThe post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred General Medical Services in accordance with the GMS contract. The role includes the management of acute and chronic conditions, preventative care, and health promotion, while working as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team to deliver safe and effective services to the practice population.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

MBBS (or equivalent medical qualification), Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), Inclusion on the GP Performers List

Desirable

Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent

Experience Essential

Experience of working in UK general practice (including training) Experience in managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

Experience in a training practice Experience in leading or contributing to clinical audits or quality improvement
