Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the end-to-end accounting and finance function of a fast-growing crypto casino operating in a regulated gaming environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines team management with day-to-day accounting ownership. Working closely with the founders and senior leadership team, the role oversees financial reporting, audit management, crypto and digital asset accounting, regulatory compliance, treasury and cash flow management, internal controls, and tax matters.
The position also provides commercial support through contract reviews and financial analysis while developing a high-performing finance team and ensuring accuracy, accountability, and strong financial governance across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations & Financial Management
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activitiesOversee multiple merchant accounts and bank accountsMonitor and report on the company's cash positionPerform end-to-end bookkeeping activities, including journal entries and transaction recordingOwn and manage the monthly close processPrepare quarterly and annual financial statementsEnsure all financial reporting requirements are completed accurately and on timeMaintain financial models and update forecasts on a regular basisSupport budgeting and financial planning activities
Audit, Compliance & Controls
Lead and oversee audit activities and act as the primary owner of the audit processEnsure compliance with accounting and financial reporting requirementsSupport tax-related matters and maintain proper financial recordsReview supplier contracts and summarize key commercial terms before approvalWork with legal stakeholders when requiredMaintain appropriate financial controls and operating procedures
Systems, Infrastructure & Process Development
Build accounting processes and procedures from scratchParticipate in the selection and implementation of accounting systemsMaintain alignment with systems used by the parent companyUtilize QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting systems as requiredEstablish scalable finance processes to support future growth
Leadership & Team Management
Manage the accounting function in a hands-on capacityInitially perform all bookkeeping responsibilities without dedicated support staffProvide weekly updates and financial discussions with managementSupport future hiring and development of the finance team as the business expandsEnsure high standards of accuracy, accountability, and financial discipline
