Cover Supervisor - Astrea Woodfields
Location: Astrea Woodfields Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only, Permanent Salary: Pro rata actual salary £26,254 - £28,035 Closing Date: 5th June
Astrea Academy Woodfields is a large and ambitious secondary academy serving around 750 students from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staffDeliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain on taskManage behaviour in line with the school’s policies, maintaining a calm and safe environmentSupport pupils with additional needs, promoting engagement and positive learning attitudesRespond to safeguarding concerns in line with school proceduresProvide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviourSupport the wider school community, including break and lunchtime duties where requiredWhat We’re Looking ForExperience of working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND settingStrong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressureA patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenThe ability to work collaboratively as part of a teamConfidence in leading a classroom and engaging pupils in learning
