About this role
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in English or a closely related subject
Proven ability to teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Strong subject knowledge with the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons
Experience of planning and delivering a differentiated curriculum to meet the needs of all learners
A clear understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements at KS3 and KS4 (including GCSE specifications)
Ability to use a range of teaching strategies to promote high expectations and excellent progress for all students
Experience of using assessment data to inform teaching and improve student outcomes
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and purposeful learning environment
Commitment to promoting high standards of literacy across the curriculum
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extracurricular activities
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
