About this role
The successful candidate will work alongside the Sixth Form leadership and teaching team to support them to provide an appropriate learning programme that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfil their academic potential in KS5.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Requirements
Ensure the principles expressed in the mission statement of Silverstone UTC and those of the sponsor, are evident in every aspect of the discharge of the duties of the post.Model the highest professional standards in all aspects of the role to all stakeholders.Be committed to working in a cohesive, supportive and forward-thinking team of colleagues which shares an ambitious vision to secure flagship status for Silverstone UTC.Be prepared to work ‘across the piece’ being flexible and interested in other areas of the Silverstone UTC.Work at all times to the standards as set out in the staff ‘code of conduct’.Specific Requirements of the Post
Supervise and monitor Sixth form independent study sessions, tracking attendance.Supervise and monitor sixth form independent coursework sessions.Support in the tracking and monitoring of sixth form attendance, liaising with the Head of Sixth form and Assistant Principal for attendance and contacting parents and carers, where necessary.Mentor individual students and support with their future career plans.Contribute to the supervision and organisation of sixth form trips and events.Maintain accurate records of student destinations, liaising with students, parents and carers.Cover teacher absence from sixth form lessons, as required.Other areas of responsibility
