About this role

We are seeking an experienced, strategic and values-driven Director of People to lead our HR and organisational development function.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide expert leadership across all aspects of people management, ensuring our workforce is supported, developed and aligned to the Trust’s vision and priorities.

You will be instrumental in driving a high-performance culture, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring best practice in HR across the Trust.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and delivery of the Trust’s People StrategyProvide strategic HR advice to the CEO, board and senior leadersOversee all employee relations, ensuring a consistent and fair approachDrive initiatives around recruitment, retention, workforce planning and talent developmentLead on organisational development, culture and staff engagementEnsure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding and safer recruitment practicesDevelop policies and frameworks that support a modern, inclusive and high-performing workforceLine manage and develop the central HR teamAbout YouWe are looking for a confident and credible HR leader with a passion for people and education.

You will have:

Significant senior HR leadership experience A proven track record of developing and delivering people strategiesStrong knowledge of employment law and HR best practiceExperience of managing complex employee relations mattersThe ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levelsA proactive and solution-focused approachCIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience)Experience within a multi-academy trust or school environment is highly desirable but not essential.
