The successful candidate will:
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive games lessons for KS2 pupilsDevelop pupils’ teamwork, resilience, and core physical skillsLead whole-class sessions confidently and independentlyWork collaboratively with an experienced coach to ensure high-quality, consistent provisionFoster positive attitudes towards sport, participation, and healthy lifestylesThis role is fixed to Mondays and Tuesdays and is not negotiable. This is a term-time only position.
About YouWe are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with primary-aged children (KS2 desirable)Holds a relevant sports coaching qualification (e.g. Level 2 or equivalent preferred)Is energetic, organised, and able to motivate pupils of all abilitiesDemonstrates strong behaviour management and communication skillsIs confident delivering structured, high-quality sessionsWorks well as part of a team and is keen to develop their practiceIs fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenWe OfferThe opportunity to work alongside an experienced sports coach with strong support and collaborationEnthusiastic, well-behaved pupils who enjoy physical activityA welcoming and supportive school environmentOpportunities to contribute to wider school sport (e.g. clubs, competitions)Ongoing professional developmentSafeguardingShears Green Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
