Bentley West Primary School, located in the heart of the community, is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Learning Mentor. This role is integral to our school's mission of providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our students.
Role Overview: As the Learning Mentor you will play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding our students towards achieving their full potential. Your responsibilities will encompass providing mentoring support to children individually and in small groups. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to contribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that fosters academic progress and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to understand and address issues effectively. Identify barriers to learning for children and use a range of techniques and expertise knowledge to support children in overcoming these. Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring support to identified students, helping them overcome obstacles and develop key life skills. Collaborate with teachers and SLT to devise and implement targeted interventions for students facing challenges. Contribute to the school's behaviour policy, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts when necessary. Organise and deliver workshops or training sessions for parents, focusing on the importance of parental engagement. Safeguarding: At Bentley West Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our students is paramount. You will be expected to uphold our robust safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare of all children under your care. Supporting the SLT to manage all safeguarding concerns and escalate them to external agencies if needed. Requirements:
