About this role

We are looking for committed individuals from the local community, and from all walks of life and backgrounds to join our Schools Standards Board. We are looking for those who can share their viewpoints, experience, expertise, skills and fresh ideas to enhance the opportunities for our children and families within the community.

We especially welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in marketing and PR, community partnerships, or change management.

Your opportunity

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to join one of our School Standards Board (SSB) at The Vale Primary School, and for a four year period. As an SSB member, you will contribute to and monitor the school’s development plan, which is focused on the key improvement priorities for the school. SSBs are also the Trust Board’s interface with key stakeholders: parents, staff and the community. You will be involved in gathering and responding to feedback from parents and staff, and developing and maintaining community links for the school.

SSB members provide regular feedback to the Trust Board on the performance of their school and the feedback from stakeholders, contributing to the overall improvement of the Trust. SSBs also have the opportunity to influence the strategy of the Trust as a whole.

Excellent training and support is provided and you don't need education experience.

We are a one form entry primary school serving the area of Langley Vale, Epsom, Headley, Ashtead and Tadworth. The Details

Being a member of the SSB does require time commitment. SSB's meet formally once per half term (6 meetings across the academic year) and follow an annual work plan. You are also required to attend training and undertake school visits relevant to your areas of responsibility. While being a member of the SSB is a voluntary role, you will be able to claim for travel expenses if needed.
