Job summary

20-25 hours per week (full-time hours may be considered). Applicants must be available to work on Mondays and Fridays, which are core working days for this role.

We are looking to recruit a Patient Services Receptionist / Administrator to join our Patient Services Support Team. We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You will be one of the first points of contact to patients attending the practice, contacting us via telephone, and via online consultation systems.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing a variety of reception and administrative patient facing functions, including telephone answering, dealing with patient medical record management, processing prescriptions, scanning, document management, and responding to patient enquiries.

Marple Cottage Surgery & Guywood Practice is a busy GP Practice in Stockport with c.11,400 patients and we are committed to providing excellent care to our patients across our two practice sites in Marple and Romiley, Stockport.

Applicants should live within easy travelling distance of Marple and Romiley and be able to work flexibly across both practice sites at Marple Cottage Surgery and Guywood Practice, Romiley.

Experienced candidates who have worked in General Practice, and used EMIS clinical system, is desirable, however full training will be provided.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience working in Reception / Administration: 1 year

Desirable

Experience working in General Practice: 1 year

The successful candidate will be hardworking, flexible and keen to learn new skills, with the following experience: Essential

Experience dealing with members of the public Excellent customer services skills Strong organisational, administration and time management skills Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

Experience working in General Practice or a similar environment Experience of using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel
