Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Tobacco Dependence Specialist Advisor to join our Physical Health Corporate Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to people's physical health, wellbeing and recovery.
You will deliver evidence-based tobacco dependence service to inpatient service users and staff across Norfolk & Waveney, using a flexible approach that includes face-to-face working, clinics and telephone support. You will work closely and collaborativelywith our multidisciplinary teams to provide behavioural support, facilitate access to pharmacotherapy and e-cigarettes, and promote adherence to the Trust Smokefree Policy and ensure the wellbeing of our patients.
You will also contribute to staff training, service development, data collection and quality improvement, supporting continuity of care across inpatient settings.
Main duties of the job
The primary focus of the role is to provide a comprehensive tobacco dependence treatment service to patients and service users. Providing confidential one to one advice for staff who smoke, is also expected. The post-holder will also assist with staff training to ensure a consistent approach and adherence with tobacco dependence treatment plans and compliance with the Smokefree policy. The post-holder will be expected to work remotely providing telephone/digital support as well as face to face dependant on client's preferences and national guidance.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to degree level or equivalent Stop smoking advisor level 2 trained Professional qualification e.g. public health, health promotion, nursing, psychology, OT
Desirable
Experience as a Tobacco Dependence Advisor Experience as a Counsellor or Health Promotion Role Level 1 and Level 2 Making Every Contact Count or willingness to undertake it
Experience Essential
Ability to communicate the benefits of stopping smoking Ability to support behaviour change and apply behaviour change techniques
Desirable
Previous experience of working within mental health services Experience of service pathway development or Quality Improvement Experience in delivering smoking cessation treatment within the hospital environment or working within substance misuse services
