We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our established nursing and multidisciplinary team for 3 days a week.

Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work under the guidance and supervision of our Nurse Consultant and Registered Nurses to deliver essential care, routine screenings, and clinical support to our patient population.

We are a friendly and forward-thinking practice based in beautiful Shropshire, with a practice list size of over 11,000 and growing week on week.
The practice has a great team, which includes 4 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, Nurse Consultant, Urgent Care and Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacist, Practice nurses and a Nurse Associate, all supported by strong admin and reception teams. We have recently achieved high QOF figures, our last CQC inspection rating was Good.
We are also in a very active Primary Care Network (Wrekin PCN) that currently has the following staff: PCN Physio, PCN Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician. The Practice has an active and supportive Patient Group.

Key Responsibilities:
Performing routine clinical measurements, including blood pressure monitoring, height/weight (BMI), and ECGs. Conducting venepuncture (phlebotomy) and processing laboratory specimens. Assisting with long-term condition clinics, including routine diabetic foot checks and NHS Health Checks. Supporting the clinical team with chaperone duties and preparing clinical rooms and assisting with minor surgery or LARC clinics. Ensuring clinical rooms remain fully stocked, equipment is calibrated, and clinical waste/sharps are managed in compliance with infection control policies.What We Offer

Person Specification
Experience Essential
We are looking for an individual who shares our commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety. Direct experience working in a healthcare, community, or clinical environment. Strong communication skills, empathy, and a professional manner with patients. Excellent organisational skills and basic IT literacy (experience with EMIS clinical system is highly desirable). Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of Hand Hygiene, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and patient confidentiality.
Desirable
Prior experience working within a General Practice setting. Formal training in Phlebotomy, ECG recording, and adult immunisations.
