Job summary

The Rheumatology Therapy team has an exciting opportunity for a senior Occupational therapist to join the team for a part time permanent post

The role would be suitable for an Occupational therapist with experience working with rheumatology patients or managing long term conditions in an outpatient setting. The successful candidate will be based on the east coast of Yorkshire working between Scarborough Hospital and Bridlington Hospital

This role may also involve working from Malton Community Hospital on an occasional basis

The Rheumatology therapy team is made up of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, who work across the areas of Rheumatology. You will have access to a support network, including Rheumatology Medical team, Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead, Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, operational leadership team, and professional leadership team.

Interviews will take place on Thursday the 9th of July .

Main duties of the job

We are committed to investment and development across all four pillars of practice. We have a positive culture towards learning and development and have a well-established training programme, senior development forums, clinical and managerial supervision.

The role will involve undertaking clinical audits and we encourage the involvement in research. You will also have opportunity to lead on developments within the service and provide supervision and education for Occupational Therapy students.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training Essential

oDegree in Occupational Therapy oHCPC Registered Occupational therapist oEvidence of specialist post graduate CPD activities oEvidence of post graduate training within specialist area

Desirable

oDelivery of relevant research projects oExperience of training/supporting/supervi sing others (including students) within specialist clinical area oMembership of Professional body

Experience and Knowledge Essential

oExperience in a relevant junior role, including the management of a range of conditions, with evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision oDeveloped / Specialist clinical skills within relevant area oDelivery of relevant audit and service improvement.

Desirable

oExperience of working in a client-driven/NHS environment oPractice placement supervisor qualification oExperience in the use of outcome measures to evaluate occupational therapy intervention
