Main duties of the job The role of a chef/cook with Agincare goes beyond just cooking; it involves working with a team to enhance the quality of life for those in care through food. Working at Agincare, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with the home manager and residents to create and develop menu ideas. The role includes menu planning, understanding and meeting dietary needs, including allergies and modified food textures, and kitchen management, such as stock management and maintaining hygiene standards. The job requires a background in kitchens, preferably with knowledge of the IDDSI framework and dietary requirements. This is a full-time position, working four shifts a week, including alternative weekends, from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. Menu planning -Collaborating with the home manager and our residents' requests and wishes, you will be able to develop and implement menu ideas. Our homes are always having themed days and events where you can showcase your skills and creativity. Understanding dietary needs - You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure we are meeting our resident's specific nutritional and dietary needs including modified food textures and allergies. You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
