Main duties of the job
Provision of General Medical services working as part of the Practices primary care team.
To take part in all treatments & preventative health care services as provided under GP terms and conditions of service.
To work with Practice team members to ensure effective delivery of quality primary care.
To record data as appropriate to the GMS Contract on the Practices clinical information system.
To be responsible for prompt review & action as appropriate for clinical results and correspondence, written or computerised as directed to yourself, or in the event of absence of another doctor.
To discharge GMS duties in morning and afternoon clinics.
To perform a fair share of home visits. The number of visits requested and the number of doctors available would determine the number of additional visits required on any given day.
To perform on call duties as per the rota, which includes a minimum of 1 day per week. Duties include fielding emergency calls during the practices working hours, performing home visits requested after 11.45am which need urgent attention. All GPs must be on site between 10.00am - 6.30pm when "on call."
To perform clinics at times deemed appropriate by the partnership. This may change in the event of DoH changes to opening times of Practices.
To maintain your own medical indemnity cover to a level necessary to discharge all duties within the practice. Evidence of this must be provided to the practice manager.

SALFORD STANDARDS/QOF/I M & T:
The appointee will be expected to undertake a reasonable share of the work in the above areas and perform audits as required by the partnership.
To engage fully with the Salford Standards Contract activity and always demonstrate cost effective use of NHS resources.
FLU CLINIC:
On occasions the appointee will be expected to help with the flu vaccination clinics
STUDY LEAVE:
1-week pro rata
CLINICAL GOVERNANCE:
The partnership expects the appointee to participate and embrace relevant clinical governance activities, including critical incident and significant event analysis, and audit as appropriate.
EDUCATION:
The partnership expects the appointee to maintain appropriate educational activities and to undergo annual GP appraisal.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION:
You may be asked to supervise other staff and students in the practice which may include (but isnt limited to ANPs, Pharmacists, Medical Students, PA students, GP Trainees) with additional training provided where necessary.
