Job summary
We are seeking a proactive and patient-focused individual to deliver a comprehensive appointment booking service and oversee the smooth operation of all radiology reception desks. The successful candidates will ensure that desk activities are managed efficiently and in line with departmental protocols.
This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, aligning with both departmental standards and the national booking programme. The post holders must possess a thorough understanding of radiology investigations, booking procedures, and relevant information systems to support seamless service delivery.
Main duties of the job
While prior NHS experience is desirable, it is not essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a professional telephone manner Strong IT proficiency, with knowledge of Epic systems considered an advantage A flexible approach to working, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with patients Confidence in working independently as well as part of a team The ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines Attention to detail and resilience under pressure
This is a fast-paced and demanding role, providing a dedicated booking service for the Radiology Department.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Experience of working in an administrative environment. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
Understanding of Patient Access Targets Proficiency in Epic, Patient tracking lists and Work-queues
Skills and Competencies Essential
Ability to deal with sensitive information with tact and diplomacy Ability to work independently, to manage and prioritise own workload. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (Team Player) Flexibility to organise and respond quickly to changes.
