Job summary
Optegra has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Refractive Optometrist to join our team, working across our Hampshire and Surrey hospitals.This is a great opportunity to join a growing and developing business and benefit from our fantastic fully funded training programs. This is a part-time role of 27.5 hours per week, worked over 3 days across two sites.
Main duties of the job
As an integral part of a multi disciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will be required to carry out pre and post-operative consultations, assessing the suitability of patients for treatment. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Carry out examinations that are associated with cataract surgery.
- Run acute and follow up clinics postsurgery for patients documenting findings in the electronic medical record systems.
- Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital.
- Provide first line clinical advice to patients and follow the appropriate means of referral to a medical practitioner if necessary.
- Ensure awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework.
- Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
-Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist - Extensive experience working as an optometrist in a refractive, high street or hospital environment - Experience of using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems - Experience of working to conversion targets and other KPIs within Vision Correction
