Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Dispensary Coordinator to join our friendly and supportive team at New Coningsby Surgery.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and patient-focused individual who can support the day-to-day running of our dispensary service whilst ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medication to patients. The successful candidate will work closely with the Dispensary Lead and wider medication management team to help deliver an efficient, high-quality service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role that combines dispensing responsibilities with operational and administrative coordination.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and safely in accordance with practice procedures.Receiving, processing and managing prescriptions and dispensary enquiries.Maintaining accurate patient records whilst adhering to confidentiality and data protection requirements.Communicating effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals.Ordering, receiving and maintaining dispensary stock levels.Conducting regular stock checks and monthly audits.Supporting the preparation and maintenance of dispensary staff rotas.Completing routine end-of-month reporting and data collection.Supporting the Dispensary Lead with the smooth day-to-day operation of the dispensary.Contributing to service improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of patient care.Working Pattern37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 18:30.
The role includes a rota of morning and afternoon shifts. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Previous dispensing experience. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Good communication and customer service skills. IT literate. Positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
Desirable
Experience using SystmOne. Previous experience supporting rotas, reporting or dispensary administration.
Qualifications Essential
NVQ level 2 essential
