Job summary
We are GP Surgery based in the village of Featherstone. We are looking for someone to provide a welcoming, efficient and professional reception service for patients and visitors. The GP Receptionist/Care Navigator is the first point of contact for the Practice and plays a vital role in ensuring smooth day to day operations by supporting patients, clinical and administrative staff.

Main duties of the job
Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously, directing them as appropriate .
Book, amend and cancel appointments using the EMIS clinical system.
Manage patient queries, requests and concerns with empathy and discretion

We are a small friendly Practice with approximately 5000 patients. The Practice is very busy serving primarily Featherstone, Brinsford and Shareshill

You will be responsible for the general administrative and reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high-quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.
Your regular duties in this role will be dealing with telephone, face to face and electronic enquiries, booking and/or amending patient appointments and home visits, contacting patients to provide information from the clinical team and assisting patients to access our services and those available in the wider community.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade A to C or equivalent in English and Maths. Good IT skills and experience using computer systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Commitment to patient care, confidentiality and equality. DBS check will be necessary
Desirable
Previous experience of working in a GP Surgery preferred although not essential as training will be given. Knowledge of clinical systems EMIS and Docman would be desirable although full training will be given.
