Are you are willing to share your own experiences with others, if so we are looking to recruit Senior Peer Facilitator with lived experience of using mental health services to join our Early Intervention Service.

The role of the Senior Peer Facilitator has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of recovery from mental health challenges and experience of personally accessing inpatient mental health services or secondary care community mental health services.

Senior Peer Facilitators will have experience of providing peer support to mental health service users.

Main duties of the job

This important role will help us to develop a supportive peer network across the Early Intervention service locality by enhancing the recruitment, training and mentorship of Peer Facilitators. You will play a key role in developing Trust wide understanding of the role of Peers in achieving excellent person centred care, as well as promoting recovery principles and education.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Good level of secondary education in Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent level Level 3 Peer Worker Apprenticeship or relative qualification Or Commitment to work towards Level 3 Peer Worker Apprenticeship

Knowledge Essential

Lived experience of mental health illness and experience of accessing secondary care services. Wide range of life experiences to bring an enabling and positive view of opportunities for others Understanding of the issues and concerns of mental health service users

Experience Essential

Experience of working in a mental health peer support/ facilitation role Ability to maintain boundaries and form a positive therapeutic relationship with service users and carers Experience of liaising with other agencies and partners

Skills Essential

Motivated and enthusiastic Able to work using a non-judgmental manner Adaptable to change
