Ideally we are looking for a friendly, personable and reliable individual to join our team as either a Trainee HCA or an experienced HCA. The ideal minimum entry requirement is to be able to undertake phlebotomy.

Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role are to deliver a full compliment of services applicable to the role of a Healthcare Assistant in General Practice.
Theis will include phlebotomy, basic wound care, performing spirometry/ECG and health checks. Full details are within the job description attached.
The right candidate needs to be reliable with excellent people skills and be able to work well within a team.
Should you be applying as a Trainee HCA, supervision and training will be provided to aid your development.
About us
Woodlands Surgery is an friendly and hardworking practice with a patient population of 11,500.
We are a fully accredited training practice and host medical/nursing students, GP registrars and GP's returning to practice.
We have 5 GP Partners and a further 5 salaried GP's. The Nursing team currently consists of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Practice nurse and a HCA. We hope to enhance our clinical service provision by adding this role into the team to support the wider practice.

Undertake new patient health checks & vascular health checks ECGs Phlebotomy
Spirometry Chaperoning duties Smoking cessation clinics Weight management clinics Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by Drs /nurses Cleansing and maintenance of clinical equipment Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations as/when directed & trained to do so Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
