About this role

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the HP EOC for a twelve month secondment full time CFR Dispatch Coordinator. You will be primarily focused on the Dispatching of Community First Responders within specific divisions and assist in the delivery of performance for the Trust. This will be A4C Band 4 with an element of shift allowance, dependent on shifts worked.

The role will also include being Pathways qualified in order to support with 999 & urgent call taking as demand requires.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for assessing emergency & non emergency calls received from members of the public & medical professionals, evaluate & allocate appropriate resources suitable within their remit.

Assessment & communication is a vital role to ensure care is provided to our service users.

You will work in partnership with other Departmental and Operational Managers to ensure best practice and business continuity is provided across the whole Trust.

Accountable to the Duty Management Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the service by providing expert knowledge, skill and leadership in the specialty area of EOC. Specifically the core responsibilities are to:o Deliver and exceed Department of Health and locally agreed standards, including the core elements of Standards for Better Health.o To ensure the effective utilisation of people and vehicles throughout the EOC.o Support the EOC Management Team in achieving and excelling in the provision of patient care and ensuring patients receive the best clinical routes and outcomes.EMAS NHS Trust is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to improving representation from all sections of the community within its workforce. Job description Job responsibilities

The successful candidate must have previous experience of EOC. Demonstrating an ability to dynamically make decisions in a high pressured environment, the ability to work on their own initiative within a close knit team and effective verbal communication skills are vital attributes in the successful candidates.

Due to the 24/7 nature of this high profile environment it will be necessary to undertake unsocial hours working as part of a 10 week rota pattern, only working one shift of the 4 within the weekly rota, this could be covering both day and night shifts.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes Essential

Able to understand statistical information Displays an ability to perform well under constant pressure Willingness to train and mentor staff, strong team player & displays self confidence Flexible working hours (unsociable hours) Willing to undertake training and to attend meetings (sometimes out of shift hours) Knowledge and understanding of Trust policies, procedures and strategy with their application to broader NHS ambulance service issues

Desirable

RSA I Typing/Word Processing Experience of managing the Hems, Urgent or CFR Desk. Knowledge of dispatch protocols.
