Job summary

North Lincolnshire With Me In Mind (WMIM), Mental Health Support Team supports children/young people and their families providing emotional and mental health support whilst enhancing services that already exist. The service ensure that early intervention and prevention are in place in all education providers from school year 3 to 13.

The service supports children, young people and families providing extra capacity for early intervention support within school and college settings.

WMIM currently supports 85% of education settings in North Lincolnshire. We work with a mixture of primary, secondary, pupil referral units and special schools. We have a strong partnership with our school nursing, CAMHS and adult service colleagues, working together to ensure that children get the right level of support at the right time.

We have an exciting opportunity within our North Lincolnshire WMIM Team for a passionate Band 7 Team Leader. As a team leader you will be responsible to the clinical lead. The Team Leader will support practitioners in both education and health settings to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems. The post holder will be visible and support the day to day running of the team, and will demonstrate an understanding of the MHST model, service development and have some leadership experience.

Main duties of the job

To ensure the Mental Health Support Team is delivered in line with national guidance and to provide support to the clinical lead in the effective day to day management of the team within the resources available and agreed governance frameworks

To provide support to the clinical lead to meet the aims and objectives of the service including deputising and delegated responsibilities.

To ensure that all referrals in to the pathway are allocated and responded to in a timely manner in line with service KPIs and the national framework

To ensure effective working delivery of a consultation and advice model for education settings in a timely manner.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

-Relevant health/social care Degree or equivalent body e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist - -Professional registration.

Desirable

-Additional training/qualification in leadership -Master's Degree or equivalent -A qualification, or have undertaken a program of formal training in Supervision

Experience Essential

-Experience of leading teams and supervising staff and students at all levels. -Experience of working in children's services e.g. Children's mental health, social care or education. -A successful track record in making improvements in service delivery -Ability to demonstrate operational effectiveness -Able to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and autonomy -Experience in presenting high level information to large groups of people -Demonstrable substantial post qualification experience, including experience of working with clients with mental health problems and working with children and families in particular -Experience of developing complex clinical formulations with children and families and within MDT's.

Desirable

-Experience of change management

Knowledge Essential

-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and Oral) -Highly competent in decision making regarding ongoing patient care based on clinical and risk factors -Theoretical and practical knowledge in areas of child and adolescent mental health and good awareness of key drivers in the field -High level of problem solving and planning skills -An understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Health Code of Practice -Understanding of confidentiality. -Clinical audit, research and clinical governance principles -An understanding of performance management systems and the importance of achieving targets. -An understanding of the risk management
