Chineham Medical Practice is a forward-thinking GP surgery in Basingstoke looking to expand their clinical team. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. Main duties of the job
Your Role
Six- Eight sessions per week
Regular clinical meetings and daily coffee breaks.
Mix of telephone and face to face appointments.
Fifteen minute appointments for all routine appointments.
Supportive of specialist interests and career development with continuous support from colleagues.

Our clinical team includes 7 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.
Part of a flourishing PCN encompassing a broad multidisciplinary team-you will work alongside clinical pharmacists, advanced nurse practitioners, first contact physiotherapists, care co-ordinators and social prescribers.
Frailty team which includes a dedicated GP, dedicated specialist nurse, care coordinator and social prescriber.
High QOF and good CQC rating.
Job description Job responsibilities
Provide telephone and face to face appointments during your normal surgery times and as per your timetable
Participate in routine and duty (same day) sessions as per your timetable and in rotation pro rata
Manage e-consults from patients.
Provide home visits for your patients on the days you normally work and share in the general visit workload of the Practice.
Undertake all relevant administrative work arising from your patient contacts, for example dealing with prescriptions, results, documents and queries for your own patients and those in your buddy group
Dictate referrals promptly and within no more than 72 hours of seeing the patient excluding two week rule referrals which must be done within 24hrs of seeing the patient.
The doctor covering the morning same day doctor session must be available from 08.00 until 13.00 for any emergencies or queries.
The doctor covering the afternoon same day doctor session must be available from 13.00 until 18.30 for any emergencies or queries.
Undertake any relevant training required to perform your duties at Chineham.
Share in any other duties not listed above which may form part of the normal clinical and relevant administrative workload of GPs at the Practice e.g letters, paperwork, certificates and reports.
To complete any other medical reports private or otherwise on patients you see and /or are registered with you. The fees for these will be retained by the Practice. This includes Part II cremation forms performed in Practice time.
To provide antenatal or postnatal appointments as per your timetable.
Additional duties and responsibilities
Provide cover for colleagues holiday, study leave and occasional absences within your timetable.
Participate in the teaching and training of GP Registrars, FY2 doctors and medical students.
Attend practice and clinical meetings held within your working hours.
Ensure you record clear, accurate and contemporaneous notes after seeing patients
Ensure you prescribe according to local and national guidelines
Participate in practice audit, clinical governance and quality assurance processes as required including significant event reporting and responding professionally to complaints
Ensure you are fully compliant with all requirements of appraisal and revalidation or any subsequent standards set by Doctors regulatory bodies
Ensure you undertake all relevant mandatory training as required by the Practice, CQC and any other relevant regulatory or advisory body

Qualifications Essential
Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise Inclusion on the NHS Performers List MRCGP qualification or equivalent Experience of working in a UK primary care setting Ability to work independently and manage a full clinical caseload Competent in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with patients, carers, and colleagues Commitment to patient safety, quality, and clinical governance Up to date with mandatory training requirements Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality
Desirable
Experience with EMIS Web clinical system Special interest in a clinical area relevant to the practice (e.g. diabetes, frailty, women's health) Experience with long-term conditions management Experience of working within a PCN Commitment to teaching and supporting trainees or medical students Familiarity with CQC standards and quality improvement
