We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our large,professionaland welcoming Community and Specialist Dental Service. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality dental care for children referred to the service.
You will be supported by experienced Paediatric Specialists and Senior Paediatric Dentists, with opportunities to develop your clinical skills, contribute to excellent patient outcomes and help deliver compassionate, patient-centred care to children and their families from diverse backgrounds.

Main duties of the job
Undertake comprehensive examination,assessmentand diagnosis of patients, ensuring care is tailored to individual needs. Develop, implementand reviewappropriate treatmentplans and ongoing care management for a range of patients. Plan, deliver and evaluate interventions that promote oral health, prevent diseaseand support positive health outcomes. Recognise commonly occurring medical emergencies and lead the dental team in providing appropriate immediatemanagement using relevant techniques,equipmentand medications. Use appropriate localanaesthetic techniques and patient-centred approaches to manage pain,anxietyand comfort during treatment. Provide sedation where clinically indicatedand within the scope of practice and service requirements. Carry out routine exodontias and simple surgical exodontias as appropriate. Assess patients to identifywhen specialist advice, referral or multidisciplinary input isrequired. Undertake appropriate investigationsto support the assessment and management of the developing dentition anddeterminethe need for specialist intervention. Diagnose dental conditions and provide effective restorative treatment, including the restoration and replacement of teeth using appropriate techniques. Work collaboratively with colleagues, patients, familiesand carers to deliver safe, effective, andequitablecare. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment that values diversity and promotes excellent patient experience.

Education/Qualification Essential
Full registration with the GDC Bachelor in Dental Surgery or equivalent Proven maintenance of post-graduate continuing professional development

Post graduate qualification
Experieance Essential
Post qualification experience in the CDS and a proven commitment to a career in the CDS Demonstrate clinical expertise in dealing with children with Learning Difficulties Able to deal with pre cooperative children Able to work in both surgery and school settings

Experience of clinical audits Demonstrable expertise in dental sedation
Skills and Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of the CDS, it's remit and client groups, and how it relates to the GDS Demonstrable knowledge of current trends, policies and regulations relevant to dentistry Proven commitment to relevant continuing education
