Job summary
The Partners are looking for a person to work WITH them to make sure the Practice is run efficiently on a day to day basis, that we meet all our Governance responsibilities and clinical objectives.
Darren, Heather and Sim are ideally looking for someone with at least 4 years senior leadership experience in a Primary Care setting. You will be able to demonstrate good leadership and administrative skills. You will support the strategic planning process of the Practice helping the Partners to make long term decisions. It is especially important that you build a good relationship with the Partners and staff and manage the team in an inclusive way. You also will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills to manage the many demands of a Practice Manager.
Externally you will represent the Practice by being part of the Primary Care Network alongside Darren Baker.
You are supported by an Operational team of Patient Services manager, Contracts and Doctors liaison Manager and a senior Care co-ordinator. Together this team have over 50 years experience in Primary Care.
We may be able to consider the appointment of a part time position but if so we would want the Practice Manager to be available in the morning to trouble shoot the many challenges that often appear first thing in the morning.
The position comes with 25 days a year holiday and an NHS Stakeholder Pension.

About us
Elsdale St Surgery is a community and family focussed GP Practice offering personal and high quality health care to its 8,000 patients. There are three Partners - Dr Heather Charles, Dr Darren Baker and Dr Simrit Degun.
We are a training Practice for GPs and student nurses.
The Practice are an early adopter of many automation processes already using a variety of AI and automated tools.

Job Responsibilities:
Contract Management
Manage all Practice contracts with the support of the Contracts Manager PCN, QOF, Public Health, Local Enhanced Services and others.
Negotiate reviews of current contracts and new contracts. In Hackney we have many contracts which generates a significant amount of our income.
Strategy & Planning
Support the Partners in developing and reviewing the strategy and plans on an annual basis. Provide the necessary detailed information for these discussions.
People Development and Management
Ensure all staff have active development plans with effective appraisals and supervision.
Manage Direct Reportees Contracts Manager, patient liaison manager (care co-ordinator), Patient Services Manager.
External Partner Liaison
This is a key part of the role and will involve liaison with a variety of organisations but in particular:
City and Hackney Integrated Care Partnership.
Well Street Common Primary Care Network.
Local Practice Managers Forum.
Operational Oversight
The daily operations of the Practice are run by your team but it is the Practice Managers responsibility to make sure this is efficient and effective by having good monitoring tools in place.
This includes IT, buildings, suppliers, online systems etc.
We use a system called TeamNet to manage Communications, Governance and HR processes within the Practice and you will be responsible for continuing to develop the use of this. You will become the expert on TeamNet and how to use it.
Marketing and Communications
Develop, implement and embed an effective marketing and communications strategy (internal and external). This includes digital communications and the web site. A current objective is to grow the patient numbers of the Practice. We already have Ai built into our Google reviews process to ensure a quick response to any feedback.
Governance
Ensure clinical and non-clinical governance is effective and well managed CQC, infection control, audits, legal etc. TeamNet underpins much of our Governance processes.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
