Whipps Cross Hospital

Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group is looking for a full time (10PA) Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine & Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) for 12-month fixed term period, with a view to extend to a substantive role. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Must hold MBChB, MBBS or equivalent degree Must hold MRCP Must hold full GMC Registration with license to practice

Desirable

Author of a peer reviewed publication or conference abstract A higher degree (MD, PhD)

Clinical Experience Essential

Higher specialist training in General Internal Medicine and/or Acute Medicine Evidence of clinical experience (including acting up) at Consultant level in General Internal Medicine and/or Acute Medicine

Desirable

Evidence of clinical experience in SDEC or ambulatory care

Knowledge Essential

Demonstrable General Internal Medicine knowledge at the level of a Consultant Physician Evidence of participation in clinical audit and/or quality improvement Evidence of a commitment to life-long learning / continuing professional development (CPD) Evidence of an understanding of clinical governance and applying the principles/regulations in clinical practice

Skills Essential

Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams Experience teaching medical and nursing colleagues. Evidence of effective written communication skills.

Desirable

Evidence of developing a teaching program Evidence of participation in research projects and/or supervising research

Personal Attributes Essential

Evidence of taking additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national level Experience working under pressure Demonstrates problem solving skills

Management and administrative experience Essential

Attendance on management or leadership course
