Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Secretary to work within the Psychology Team to provide, as part of the team, a complete secretarial and administrative service to the psychology clinical team.
This is a full time vacancy for 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Actioning clinic outcomes in a timely manner. Processing referrals coming into the department and coming back from triage. Transferring letters to MediSec and signing them off. Audio typing clinical letters into MediSec. Waiting list management. Organising psychology appointments as per surgical pathways. Assisting patients with queries of their appointments and referral, both over the phone and by email. To perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications Essential
Word processing - Qualified to RSA III/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills (60+ wpm at 98% accuracy
Desirable
AMSPAR Medical Secretarial Diploma City and Guilds Certificate in Medical Terminology, or equivalent demonstrable skills/experience ECDL or equivalent qualification
Experience Essential
Experience of using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook Experience of successfully working within tight time frames and to deadlines Experience of audio typing
Desirable
Experience of providing secretarial services in a hospital environment Experience of using digital dictation systems Experience of medical audio typing
Skills Essential
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner Good command and understanding of English, punctuation and grammar Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload with interruptions and changing priorities Advanced keyboard skills
