Job summary
The Leeds Community based Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit a fixed term band 7 MSK Physiotherapist to work as part of an extensive First Contact Practitioner (FCP) team(until the end March 2027).
There will be some opportunity to work as part of the core MSK service, to integrate with the team and gain invaluable Leeds MSK pathway knowledge.
This is primarily an FCP role. We are looking for an enthusiastic MSK Physiotherapist who has already completed their FCP competencies, either through the taught University or supervised portfolio route.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for:
Your own independent FCP caseload, undertaking assessment, diagnosis and first line management of patients in primary care.
You will also have your own indepenedent MSK Tier 2 clinic, where you will manage patients with a wide range of health needs, who may have additional complex needs and multiple pathologies.
Identifying patient needs, agreeing goals, and providing appropriate therapy interventions.
Keeping the patient at the centre of care, ensuring the patient is engaged in a shared decision-making approach.
Liaising with other health care professionals within the GP practices and within the wider MSK team.
You will be based in one or more PCN sites across the city and also within one MSK hubsite. It is essential that you are flexible and prepared to travel to different venues according to the needs of the service.
We have a strong emphasis on clinical supervision and in-service training. The MSK service is actively involved in research, having participated and run clinical trials.
The service continues to explore extended hours provision; however, the service currently runs Monday to Friday
Due to this, it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the city, or you have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
