Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Eating Disorder Dietitian to be based within the adult specialist eating disorder team

The post will be part of the Warrington, Halton and Trafford Eating Disorder Service and will be based at The Gateway in Warrington. The team provides a outpatient service offering evidenced based treatment approaches to 18 year old plus adults who present with an eating disorder. The service links in with empowered, the provider collaborative for adults with eating disorders requiring an inpatient admission and parallel the step down service post admission.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced dietitian with a genuine interest in working with people with eating disorders and their families and a commitment to delivering specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions.

The dietician will play an important role in service development , providing support and supervision to less experienced dieticians over the footprint and will be involved in clinical governance and business developments

We are looking for an experienced dietician to fulfil this role.

The post is part-time 33.75 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the planning and implementation of high-quality dietetic interventions within the community environment

The post-holder will be offered opportunity for continued professional development within a specialist and well established multi-disciplinary service. Our service has a strong commitment to professional development through individual supervision, training, appraisal and an ethos of close multi-disciplinary working. There will also be an opportunity for specific eating disorder training.

To work as an autonomous practitioner to perform a specialist dietetic assessment of patients within a community team . To use clinical reasoning to provide a diagnosis and develop, deliver and adapt individualised dietetic treatment programmes. To make autonomous decisions on the treatment plans for patients with Anorexia Nervosa, as well as Bulimia nervosa and Atypical Eating Disorders.

To partake in service development and provide supervision for less experienced dieticians in the service

Qualifications Essential

Degree in nutrition and dietetics or equivalent Membership of professional body Evidence of Eating-Disorder specific training, post registration

Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetics

Knowledge and Expertise Essential

Very good knowledge of dietetics for Eating Disorders

Experience Essential

Experience of working in Eating Disorders Dietetics in the community Experience of managing low weight patients in an acute setting. Experience of treating patients with mental health difficulties.

Desirable

Experience of Community Eating Disorders Services
