About this role

Job summary

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients' pathway of care. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide support in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.

Main duties of the job

Process and log all referrals in line with Trust Access Policy and specialty SOP

To use the 18 weeks referral to treatment (RTT) to manage all outpatient and elective patient journeys.

Ensure that Trust agreed standard of service is delivered to patients requiring elective admission to speciality

To exercise initiative and judgement based on acquired knowledge and experience when dealing with enquiries

Ability to analyse and extract complex data sets from a number of different sources.

Organise own day-to-day work tasks showing an ability to prioritise in order to achieve set timescales.

Work collaboratively as part of an integrated team.

...

Work within and keep up to date with National and Trust legislation, guidelines, policies, procedures, protocols and code of conduct relating to own role.

Maintain stock control such as stationery, clinical supplies, equipment and uniforms.

Participate in the induction and training of all new members of staff.

To liaise with medical records with regard to availability of medical notes as appropriate.

Provide reciprocal cover for administrative team during annual leave and sicknessabsence.

Qualifications Essential

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C

Desirable

Computer Literacy Course e.g. ECDL

Experience Essential

Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel Exceptional customer service background

Experience of working in the NHS or healthcare setting

Skills Essential

Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills Pays attention to detail
