An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our GP Practice
We are a dynamic, forward thinking team who are passionate about developing and delivering excellent quality local services to meet the needs of our patients.
Due to the changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitioners we are looking to expand our team with a General Medical Practitioner.
Whilst this will be a fixed term position initially, subject to NHS funding the contract may be renewed. We are look for a GP who is available to start asap on a FRIDAY

Due to the changes in the Capacity and Access Scheme to introduce more General Practitioners we are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ a qualified General Practitioner to work within our practice 2 sessions per week on a Friday

Job description Job responsibilities
In accordance with the agreed Practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including:
Conducting surgery and telephone consultations, addressing patient queries, and visiting patients at home.
Checking, signing, and authorising prescriptions, while managing queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely manner.
Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other health care workers.
Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed issues.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Developing care plans in consultation with patients, in line with current disease management protocols.
Providing counselling and health education.
Admitting or discharging patients from the caseload and referring them to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible.
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary or generically, as clinically appropriate.
Undertaking emergency patient visits during surgery hours, if clinically indicated.
Participating in on-call sessions and home visiting sessions as allocated in the practice rota.

Adhering to all relevant Practice policies and guidelines, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
Committing to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practices.
Contributing to evaluation, audit, and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
Assisting in the development of computer-based patient records.
Helping with the summarisation of patient records and Read-Coding patient data.
Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, as appropriate.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent CCT
Skills Essential
Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Strong IT skills. Clear, polite telephone manner. Competent in the use of Office and Outlook. EMIS web user skills. Effective time management (planning and organising). Ability to work as a team member and autonomously. Excellent interpersonal skills. Problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure. Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes. Experience with clinical risk management.
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a primary care environment. Experience of continued professional development. Experience of QOF and clinical audit. General understanding of the primary care contract.
