Main duties of the job
We are well embedded MDT members of our specialist teams within the respiratory directorate. We are constantly innovating and developing pharmacist led clinics and projects across Severe Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Tuberculosis, NTM-PD and ILD to name a few.This fixed term opportunity will give you a chance to work within a specialist team to develop skills that will put you in good stead for future roles.The ideal candidate will also have a proven ability to deliver on high quality clinical pharmacy service .

Qualifications Essential
MPharm or equivalent Registered as a pharmacist with the GPhC Postgraduate certificate in pharmacy practice or equivalent knowledge and experience
Desirable
Specialist postgraduate diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent knowledge and experience Independent prescribing qualification (for Band 7 and above)
Experience Essential
Proven experience of good performance in previous posts, Experience in supervising and organising staff and work Evidence of basic teaching and tutoring in a hospital setting through training others e.g. pre-registration / basic grade pharmacists
Desirable
Previous experience of working within specialist respiratory services Considerable post qualification NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of GPhC Revalidation requirements Knowledge of medicines management systems at ward level Up to date knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmacy practice, e.g. controlled drugs, Health and Safety at Work Understanding of stock control systems Understanding of the pharmaceutical care needs of respiratory patients An awareness of current national standards, guidelines and service delivery issues relevant to respiratory patients Understanding of stock control systems Knowledge of Safe and Secure Handling of Medicines requirements Understanding of the importance of adherence to SOPs and legislation Demonstrates a good understanding of patient safety initiatives
Desirable
Clinical knowledge of one or more of the following specialist respiratory services such as: ILD, CF, Bronchiectesis, Severe Asthma, Allergy, respiratory infections eg. NTM and MDRTB
