Job summary
Are you passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and supporting patients on their journey to recovery? We're looking for a dedicated and motivated Registered Nurse to join our friendly ward team at Stratton Community Hospital.
You'll play a key role in delivering excellent rehabilitative and nursing care to our predominantly elderly patients, working alongside a supportive multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration, respect and continuous learning.
As part of the team, you will:
Contribute to the ongoing development of the ward and the wider service Provide skilled, compassionate care that promotes independence and dignity Act as a positive role model, supporting colleagues and students in their professional growth
While your base will be at Stratton Community Hospital, we value flexibility- you may occasionally be asked to support neighbouring community hospitals as service needs arise.

Main duties of the job
The assessment of care needs and the development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting
To be a team leader and provide all forms of nursing care without direct supervision.
To provide mentorship to pre and post registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards.
Work a rota of early, late and night shifts to provide 24-hour care, seven days a week.
This job is currently only open to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

Qualifications & Experience Essential
RGN 1st Level Registration Evidence of ongoing professional development Evidence of team working
Desirable
ENB or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification Experience of working within a community hospital and working in care of the elderly Leadership skills First Degree or Diploma (or working towards)
