Main duties of the job As a Team Leader Support Worker at Elysium Healthcare, you'll join a compassionate team working to provide quality care for people with severe learning disabilities, Autism, and challenging behaviours. Your role involves supporting residents to lead fulfilling and independent lives while working alongside a multidisciplinary team. You'll be responsible for ensuring excellent care tailored to each individual's needs. This position requires empathy, communication skills, resilience, and a willingness to support personal hygiene and deal with challenging behaviours. You’ll be great with people – a real ‘people person’, able to communicate effectively – explaining yourself clearly in the right tone to suit the situation and be really good at understanding others (behaviours and expressions, as well as vocal). Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will use your excellent communication skills and experience as a Team Leader with a background in Learning Disabilities & Autism to provide care and support people through their care pathway. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of you; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week. You will be working on a 3-week rolling rota with a mixture of late and early shifts. There are a mixture of shift lengths from 7.5 hour to 8.5 hours (including weekends).

As a Team Leader you will have:

Ideally have or working towards NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care Hold a valid UK driving licence (preferred to assist with community visits) Have strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature Be willing to support residents with personal hygiene Have excellent people and communication skills, and a good sense of humour Deal with challenging behaviours Have a positive and professional approach Be reliable, flexible, hard-working and honest Be local or within commutable distance You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted.

Where you will be working:

Location: 185 Arabella Dr, Roehampton, London SW15 5LH Arabella Drive is based in Roehampton and is part of our learning disability and autism division and provides support for people who may be living with moderate learning disabilities with associated health needs, autism and behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be seen as challenging. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will offer support to people as part of their care pathway. Whether it is moving from their community placement or a family home because they require more structured care and support. Your aim will be to encourage individuals to lead a full and valued life, enabling them to live more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks and developing robust coping strategies.

Qualifications Essential

Ideally have or be working towards NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care. Hold a valid UK driving licence (preferred).
