Job summary
The Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering is looking to recruit a friendly, efficient and self-motivated individual to join their multidisciplinary team.
This post is specifically in support of the PET-CT scanning service but may also involve additional administrative duties across the department when required.
We're looking for people who have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and can demonstrate a good understanding of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
The role includes data collection and entry, general clerical duties, making appointments and contacting patients by phone (a good telephone manner is essential) and some reception cover where necessary.
Knowledge of the Soliton Radiology System is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
This is a permanent post that is part time and the working days are a Wednesday and Thursday.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job includes:
To contact patients by phone and record patient responses to questionnaires To make appointments (including preparation of appointment letters/envelopes). This also includes scanning in necessary paperwork, preparing and printing lists and finding and copying reports and forwarding images. Training will be given To operate systems external to the hospital e.g. Radiology Information System, for which, significant training will be given. This includes scanning in necessary paperwork, preparing and printing lists, entering data into a spreadsheet. Use own initiative to reschedule/rearrange appointments as a result of cancellation/late referrals and urgent patient requests To ensure accurate paper and electronic records are maintained and stored as appropriate including the PET/CT spreadsheet and patient satisfaction survey spreadsheet To use the Image Exchange Portal to send images.
