Job summary
Due to practice expansion and increased capacity, we are seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our progressive, forward-thinking, and well-organised team at College Road Surgery
Please note that this role will be for 4 sessions per week and will be a Fixed Term contract.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients across the practice.
This will include, but is not limited to, surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, administration, complying with the practices contracts (GMS/PMS/enhanced services/DES).

OHP was set up by local GPs who are passionate about providing high quality primary care and using their time and skills effectively to benefit patients..
We are currently a GP partnership of 30 practices with 38 surgeries, serving around 280,000 patients in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Shropshire.
Our head office is based in Cotteridge, but this role will be based at College Road Surgery.

Clinical Responsibilities:
In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashionTriage patients presenting to the surgery by telephone, online and in personMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessIn consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health and promoting healthy lifestyle strategies and educationManage long-term conditions and patients with complex problemsRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCollecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirementsDelivering enhanced servicesCheck, manage & process patient test resultsRefer patients to secondary care and/or relevant organisations and internally within the practice or PCN (e.g. to additional roles members of the PCN team) as requiredCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) in line with local and national guidelinesPrescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general the post-holder will be expected to undertake the duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care in a surgeryPlease find the attached job description, which provides a full overview of the role, along with the supporting practice information for further details about the practice.
